Breakfast in the Courtyard

These are from mid-September, but still... nice life enjoying breakfast in the courtyard. Keen observers will note that Jack is wearing underwear. He was pretty into wearting the "underwears" but less so into the activity that is meant to accompany that change. He is back in a diaper now. Someday... (and when he did wear the underwears, he often wanted to wear only the underwears--one of the nice things about living in LA)

Waking up from a nap

Jack has rejected his crib/toddler bed in favor of the giraffe pillow and camping mat on the floor. He almost never sleeps in his bed anymore.

Jack O Lantern

or jack o lan-tren, as jack calls it. I asked him to show me his baby pumpkins and smile for the photos... (Thanks to Aunt Joyce for sending the "Pumpkin bling" to make the pumpkin into a cat.)

What happens when you try to force it

I wanted to get a photo of Jack in his costume at home with the pumpkin we carved, but he just was not interested in putting his costume on just yet. We went to downtown Pasadena to trick-or-treat, and as soon as we got there and he saw the other kids in costumes, he wanted to put his on.

Preparing for Halloween

Jack wanted to get a big pumpkin for mommy and a baby pumpkin for him and "put a face on it." We went to the urban pupkin patch, where he was mainly intersted in the toys, the bounce house, and the petting zoo. It turns out that the pumpkins were much cheaper and less rained on at the Whole Foods across the street, so we actually bought them there--who would have thought Whole Foods would be cheaper?!

Ballgame Song

Jack's version of "Take me out to the Ballgame" especially for Grandpa on his birthday.

Happy Birthday to Grandpa

Here is a special video for Grandpa on his birthday. Jack understands birthdays to be a time when you get a cupcake and a party. In case you can't quite hear it, Jack suggests that Grandpa should have "crayons, an ice cream cone, or a cupcake" at his party. He also reports that grandpa is going to be 3. Three generally means "more than two".

Bumpy Ride

On our last day, we went out to watch the sun set, and it was a bit of a bumpy ride, but Jack loved the bumps. He didn't mind the water spraying over too much. Eventually, the bumps put him right to sleep.
