Tooth Fairy addendum

Jack seems to have caught on to the idea that the Tooth Fairly might not come if he doesn't believe... Last night, he said that he didn't mean that the parents ARE the tooth fairy, just that the tooth fairy might ask the parents for help since she would have so many kids to visit. She might send a message to the parents, and then she could handle the cases where the parents were going to be at work that night or otherwise unable to help the tooth fairy out. He considered and rejected the idea that the tooth fairy's logistical problem could be handled with a magic wand since "there is no sucha thing as magic." He also had some ideas about what materials might work for the tooth fairy's house if it is to be floating on a cloud (her own special permanent cloud, as we basically have no clouds or rain to speak of in Los Angeles). There is a lot to consider.

Indeed the tooth fairy came. :)

First Tooth

Jack lost his first tooth today -- right before pick-up from school!
This weekend Ben and I were talking about whether the tooth fairy pays for teeth or for having lost a tooth (as relates to what happens when you lose your lost tooth before providing it to the tooth fairy). Jack overheard and this discussion followed:
Jack: Mom, you know that the tooth fairy is YOU, right?
Me: What makes you say that?
Jack: There is no sucha thing as the tooth fairy.
Me: So you don't believe in the tooth fairy?
Jack: Well, I believe in the MONEY part but not the fairy part.

And later he informed me that "you get more for the first tooth because it hurts more because you aren't used to it."

Back to School Part II

Rose started Red Caboose today. She did great -- no problems with dropoff, straight for the play doh. She wanted to do her photos withe Fozzie. Unfortunately, He is not allowed at school!

Back to School

Jack started a new school this year for first grade. Only 2 days, but so far, so good! Rose was happy to accompany him to his first day. Rose was also happy to find Clifford in Jack's classroom.
