Derek, cousins Zoe and Violet, Grandma Martha, and cousin Alice all converged on LA the same weekend! Jack and Violet had a lot of projects and experiments going on, plus the disassembled Jack's car. We were a little suprised by the LA Marathon but eventually managed to cross the course and enjoy a breakfast at Nate n Al's. Rose enjoyed looking at grandma's doggie picture collection on the iPad and playing with cousin Zoe!
Rose totally tolerated Jack's application of all these hair clips, and left them indefinitely.
Back in February, we spent a long weekend in San Diego with the Folkensteins (Amy, Ben, Sam, Sarah). Jack and Sam had a great time playing on the bunk beds at the hotel, swimming (despite the 60 degree weather), playing "transformer birds," and visiting Sea World and the Zoo (twice). Rose and Sarah had fun too (when they weren't missing their naps!). Rose was especially interested in the monkeys.
